Abundance is a Basket Full of Zucchini

Abundance means plenty, or a very large quantity of something. It is the innate tendency of nature and of life to manifest, grow, and become more.

It's zucchini season, and abundance is here.  As children of God, we are promised abundance not only in our gardens but in every area of our lives.

John 10:10 AMPC The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

Abundance means having more than enough in every situation or circumstance you find yourself in.  I sometimes struggle with this concept.  There are areas in my life where I am not seeing this promised abundance.

At times I wonder what does abundance even looks like?

Ephesians 3:20 AMPC Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]—

God in His goodness give us illustrations of His word in nature.  A great one for abundance is the zucchini.

If you have ever planted them, you know what I'm talking about.  Your basket overflows, and you have more than you know what to do with!  You have eaten all you can, canned relish and jam, and frozen some for future use.  You share with your neighbors until they run the other way when they see you coming with more zucchini.

That is what abundance looks like!  So take a look and start expecting that kind of abundance in every area of your life!

If you are blessed with a superabundance of zucchini, here is one of my favorite recipes.  The zucchini makes the cake moist, and you can't go wrong with chocolate chips and cream cheese frosting!
