Todays Prompt: Caring

Caring for yourself and others is not a new concept that sprang up in the 60s" love and peace movement, or the self-love rhetoric that we are have been saturated with the last several years.  It is a commandment from the Lord given thousands of years ago.

"For the whole Law [concerning human relationships] is complied with in the one precept, You shall love your neighbor as [you do] yourself." -Galatians 5:14 AMPC

In order to truly care for others, you have to experience it for yourself first.

"I give you a new commandment: that you should love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too should love one another. By this shall all [men] know that you are My disciples, if you love one another [if you keep on showing love among yourselves]."-- John 13: 34-35 AMPC

As born-again believers, it is now part of our nature to care for others(and ourselves).  But we get lazy or weary in well-doing. So, today I'm sharing some of my favorite quotes on caring that I hope will inspire you!

"So then, while we [as individual believers] have the opportunity, let us do good to all people [not only being helpful, but also doing that which promotes their spiritual well-being], and especially [be a blessing] to those of the household of faith (born-again believers). --Galatians 6:10 AMP

"Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around." --Leo Buscaglia

"A smile is the light in your window that tells others that there is a caring, sharing person inside." --Denis Waitley

"Never believe that a few caring people can't change the world. For, indeed, that's all who ever have." --Margaret Mead

"Caring about others, running the risk of feeling, and leaving an impact on people, brings happiness." --Harold Kushner

“Caring can be learned by all human beings, can be worked into the design of every life, meeting an individual need as well as a pervasive need in society.” – Mary Catherine Bateson

“Why should I care when no one else does? For the simple reason that the most critical time to care is when no one else does.” – Craig D. Lounsbrough

“We won’t always know whose lives we touched and made better for our having cared, because actions can sometimes have unforeseen ramifications. What’s important is that you do care and you act.” – Charlotte Lunsford

“Take care of your thoughts when you are alone and take care of your words when you are with people.” – Unknown

“Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness and understanding you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again.” – Og Mandino

“Things done well and with a care, exempt themselves from fear.” – William Shakespeare

“Never be so busy as not to think of others.” – Mother Teresa

"Possess a greater concern for what matters to others instead of your own interests. And consider the example that Jesus, the Anointed One, has set before us. Let his mindset become your motivation."--  Philippians 2: 4-5 TPT
