Break out of Hibernation and Beat the Winter Blues

Between Covid lockdowns and the winter weather we've been having, many of us have been indoors longer than  normal. With that hibernation the winter blues can set in. Winter blues have been having a definite effect at our house.   I just want to curl up beside the fireplace with a good book and cup of coffee and stay there until spring. And so that's what I do. Then guilt sets in. I should be doing something not just wasting all this time.  And that make the blues bluer. Scientists say that unless you have SAD (seasonal affect disorder) the weather...

Our Perception of God

Our Perception of God

Two beliefs have the most effect on our lives. How we see God, and how we think He sees us. Our perception of God develops as children and evolves over our lifetime.  God never changes. Each day brings a new revelation about who He is, and our understanding of Him changes.  As we read the Bible and pray, the Word of God forms our perceptions of Him.  As we fellowship with others, their perception influences our own. For example, you want to go out with your friends.  You lay out all your persuasive arguments for going to your parents and their answer is no.  Just no with no explanation.  You want to know why not, so you can come up with ideas to counteract their...

The Most Important Thing You Can Learn

The Most Important Thing You Can Learn

The number one most important thing you can learn is to hear God's voice. I'm not talking about an audible voice, although He does speak that way. But usually, He speaks into your spirit. If you can learn to hear His voice and listen to what He is saying, you will live the delightful life He has planned and prepared for you.  This communication with us was why He sent Jesus to the cross.  Jesus died, conquered death, hell, and the grave to restore fellowship between you and the Father.  That is how important it is to Him that you...
