Today's Prompt: Wonderful**
Psalm 139:14 NIV
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
The psalmist knew he was wonderful because he knew he was made by God. And God doesn't make junk. Ephesians 2:10 calls us God's workmanship, a masterpiece. So David could say with confidence, God, your works are wonderful, and I know it! You and I are included in the phrase " your works". He knew and praised God for how wonderful you were going to be without ever meeting you.
But the question is do you know it and believe it?
So many people wish they were differently made. We are all guilty of this at times. If only I looked different or had different talents then I could be what God wanted me to be.
A few years ago, I was on a video call with a business group I'm in. The first question that was asked of the group was "What are you bringing into the group?" I panicked. My inner conversation was something like this.
"Oh no, I've got nothing to add, no skills, no good ideas. What am I going to do? It will be my turn, and I'll have nothing to say, and I'll look really stupid. What if they don't want me here?"
That day, I did not believe I was wonderfully made with the gifts and talents I needed. I stumbled through my answers hoping no one could tell how deep in the imposter syndrome I had sunk.
If you are dwelling on this kind of thinking, you are missing out on the blessing of how God created you. As a believer, your affirmation needs to come from your Maker who made you wonderfully. You are who God created you to be and He didn't make a mistake or leave anything out.
You will never live up to the potential God has planned for you until you know, understand, and embrace that you are wonderfully made!
Wonderful means inspiring delight, pleasure, or admiration; extremely good, marvelous, magnificent, superb.
That is how God sees you.
That is how David saw you.
That is how I see you.
That is how you should see yourself.
You are Wonderfully made!
