Is God Disappointed in Me?

God has already declared the end result of His dreams for you (Jerimiah 29:11), and that is the way He sees you.  He doesn't get disappointed with you if you miss it,  fall short, or fail.  He sees that as part of the journey.  Failure is just as necessary as success in the learning process.

If you are concerned that God is disappointed you, take a minute to examine that feeling. 

Where is it coming from?

- Are you disappointed in yourself? Is someone else disappointed in you? You may think if someone you admire or respect is disappointed in you, God must be too.

-Are you disappointed in God? If I'm feeling disappointed by God, and that is wrong, so He must be disappointed in me.

-Is it conviction from Holy Spirit or condemnation from the enemy? Conviction is an inner voice saying: You're going the wrong way. Get back on the right path. Condemnation says: it's too late, God is disappointed and angry at you. God is done with you, and you are on your own.

It is important to deal with this feeling of being a disappointment because it will impact your decision making ability, lead to frustration and hopelessness, and finally just giving up.  You start to think no matter how much I try, I always end up disappointing God.

But, you are wrong!

He sees you as a child learning to walk. Parents aren't disappointed that their baby isn't running a marathon or hiking up the side of a mountain. They know he is capable of those things, but it will take time, diligence, and practice to accomplish them. No, a good parent picks that child up, soothes their cries of frustration, and encourages them to try again. Then they sit back and enjoy, perhaps even laughing at, the efforts of that child.

 God is no different. He is enjoying this journey you are on and is excited that you have invited His along. And while disappointment will be part of this journey, it will never be God's being disappointed with you. You are His masterpiece, and He is delighted with your progress. 

Is God disappointed in me?  I hope this helped you answer that question for yourself.  But, If you still feel that He is, repent.   Somethings we must accept by faith then the feelings will follow.  Then ask Holy Spirit to comfort and heal those emotions. Decree out loud:

God is not disappointed in me.  He sees my every failure as a stepping stone to successfully fulfilling the plans He planned for me.

God is not disappointed in me.  He follows me with mercy and goodness, His grace sufficient, and His love is everlasting.

God is not disappointed in me.  He delights in me. He is rejoicing and singing over me right now.
