My One Word Journey-January

My One Word Journey-January

Each month I share highlights from My One Word Journal. My Word for this year is INTENTIONAL.

My journey with my One Word started with things I wanted to do this year.  I want to be more intentional in several areas of my life; being adventuresome, creative, dreaming, loving, and joyful.

But the first thing the Lord emphasized to me was His intentions for me were good.

Scriptures:

And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.  John 8:32

For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the LORD, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.  Jeremiah 29:11 AMP

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.  Ephesians 2:10  NKJ

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.  John 10:10

As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present outcome, that many people would be kept alive [as they are this day].  Genesis 50:20

And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.  Romans 8:28 AMP

 Highlights from my notes:

  • God's intentions for me are good. Knowing and believing this truth will help me achieve what He places on my heart. It gives me the confidence to intentionally go after my dreams and His promises.

  • I am an intentional creation created by a loving God who is intentional about me and my life. He created me with a plan and purpose in mind. He cares about every area of my life.

  • Don't get caught up in or discouraged by present circumstances. Trust God, there is a plan, and He is working it out.

Quotes:

More abundantly means to have a superabundance of a thing.  Abundant life refers to life in its fullness of joy abounding strength for spirit, soul, and body.  -Wikipedia Abundant Life

God is absolutely good.  -Robin Bullock

Be intentional today! Whatever it is you are expecting from God, have audacious faith he will accomplish just what he promise. You may not know how it will get done. Speak it into existence. B-E-L-I-E-V-E! Say to yourself, "Don't know how but God did it!" - Joaynn D

God made you on purpose, for a purpose. -Bill Hybels

Action Plan:

  • Prayer Retreat: connect to God for intentions for the month/year
  • Set my intention for the day each morning and follow through with appropriate actions.
  • Set up workbook
  • Adventure Day: Thrifting and lunch with Steve
  • Creative: write blogs
  •    Atelier 54: Table topper completed

Celebration:

Take a day of rest from being intentional.  Flow with the Sprit and be spontaneous.

Discoveries Along the Way:

"The sweet spot is where my (God's) intentions overlap with your intentions and actions. That is where the magic happens."

The Intentional Sweet Spot diagram.

The Sweet Spot

The first circle is God's intentions, the second is our intentions, and the third is actions. Prayer is where God's intentions and our intentions overlap. By reading the Word and praying, our intentions become the same as His. Where God's intentions and Actions come together, we see the supernatural. When our intentions connect with our actions, we have purposeful living. And it is all held together with love.

Where all of these come together to overlap is the sweet spot. It's a magical place where all of our intentional actions are aided by the supernatural.  My goal is to live in the Sweet Spot. It is there adventure resides, creativity thrives, dreams are dreamt, love abounds, and joy overflows.

Matt Tommey e-mail Jan 20:  There is a subtle but absolutely essential difference between creating FOR God and creating WITH God. The Kingdom is about doing things with God as sons and daughters.

The Kingdom is about walking WITH and BY the Spirit- co-laboring with Him in the things He is already doing.

He creates the inspiration, momentum, and acceleration.  We simple get to see and agree in alignment with our design and assignment.

So many things to love here! Yes, such a beautiful beginning by acknowledging this truth: “But the first thing the Lord emphasized to me was His intentions for me were good.”
