He is Directing Your Footsteps

This last week I have been contemplating the new year and what to be looking forward to. One of the messages I have received is to relax, knowing that the Lord is directing my footsteps. I believe it is a word for us in 2022.   The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Psalm 37:23 NLT During the last week of 2021, this scripture started showing up in my emails and social media feeds. Then, while watching the Stand New Year's Eve celebration, Rodney Howard-Browne shared on God directing your footsteps...

Christmas Wreaths

Christmas Wreaths: What They Mean and How to Make a Fresh One   This year, I decided to make a Christmas wreath using cones and branches from our pine trees. While my pine cones are drying and the pine branches are soaking, I thought I would share a little bit I've learned about the Christmas wreath. The history of the Christmas Wreath and what it symbolizes The word wreath comes from the word “writhen” which was an old English word meaning “to writhe” or “to twist.” The hanging of Christmas wreaths originated with the Romans, who hung wreaths on their...

You are His Favorite Child!

Growing up. I was the favorite child.  Everybody said so - unless they said my sister was the favorite.  As a mother, each of my children has been my favorite child at some point.  As parents, we try hard not to show favoritism and make sure each child feels special, accepted, and loved.  Dr. Ellen Libby describes why it is important for each child to believe they are favored.  "These children believe that they are adored more than anyone else in the family, that they have won the quintessential prize of being the most cared for in the family...

Each day brings a new revelation about who He is, and our understanding of Him changes.  As we read the Bible and pray, the Word of God forms our perceptions of Him.  As we fellowship with others, their perception influences our own. This perception sets the perimeters for our relationship with Him. It influences our faith and how we pray.  It plays a part...

hey, I Resemble that Remark!

I enjoy quotes.  They inspire and make me laugh. Someday I hope I can write stuff that others will want to quote. But for now, here are some quotes from some quote-worthy folks.  These made me think "hey-I resemble that remark!"    “Behind every successful woman is a substantial amount of coffee.” – Stephanie Piro    “When your quilting up a life, you sometimes got to start with any piece you can get your hands on.” ―Jonathan Odell   You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks. -  Winston Churchill    “May...
