The "D" in dreaming--dreaming with God.

The "D" in dreaming--dreaming with God.

The "D" in dreaming--dreaming with God.

In Genesis 1,  we find God dreaming and turning those dreams into reality.  Let's see how He did it.

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Genesis 1:2 (KJV)

First this:  God created the Heavens and Earth--all you see, all you don't see.  Earth was a soup of nothingness, a bottomless emptiness, an inky blackness.  God's Spirit brooded like a bird above the watery abyss.  Genesis 1:1-2 (MSG)

In the beginning, we see what God did to set in motion His dreams.  When he started,  all He had was Tohu Bohu.

Tohu- a desolation (of surface), i.e. Desert; figuratively, a worthless thing; adverbially, in vain -- confusion, empty place, without form, nothing, (thing of) nought, vain, vanity, waste, wilderness. From <http://biblehub.com/strongs/hebrew/8414.htm>

Bohu-an undistinguishable ruin -- emptiness, void.  From <http://biblehub.com/strongs/hebrew/922.htm>

But He wanted a world for His family to live in.  So He rachaph  over Tohu Bohu.

Rachaph: Hover.  move Gently, also cherish, and brood, From <http://biblehub.com/hebrew/7363.htm>

A primitive root; to brood; by implication, to be relaxed -- flutter, move, shake. From <http://biblehub.com/strongs/hebrew/7363.htm>

brood-to dwell on a subject or to meditate with morbid persistence (usually followed by over or on).                    brood above /over, to cover, loom, or seem to fill the atmosphere or scene: From <http://www.dictionary.com/browse/brood>

Ok, so we have the picture.  God wanted something, the earth to be a home for his children.  So He sat back, relaxed and comfy, and began to dream.  He thought out every angle, He pictured you and me living here.  What would they need?  What would make them happy?  He meditated on it over and over until He had it all planned out.  Then He dreamed about it again, until His dreams began to fill the atmosphere, and suddenly He declared "Let there be light, and there was light."  Since we are made in His likeness, I believe we can use this key to fulfill the plans He has for our life.

Dream

So let's get started.  Set aside some time where you can be alone and quite with Abba God.  Grab a notebook so you can write down what you dream.  Let Him know you want to know the plans He has for you for 2018 and beyond.  Ask Holy Spirit to help you dream, help you see His plans.  Then get comfortable and relaxed and let those dreams bubble up from your spirit into your mind.  Don't worry if you fall asleep, stay relaxed and try again another day.

For God may speak in one way, or in another,

Yet man does not perceive it.

In a dream, in a vision of the night,

When deep sleep falls upon men,

While slumbering on their beds,

Then He opens the ears of men,

And seals their instruction.

Job 33:14-16 (KJV)

God wants you to know His plans, so don't give up, be persistent.   Make it a habit to dream with God every week.  You have asked for Holy Spirits help, trust that he is guiding your imagination and let it go.  Have fun!

If you would like to share the dream God places in you, I love to here about it.  Drop me a line in the comments or send me an e-mail.
