Sometimes, something happens that lets you know God's word is alive and working in your life. Today I have a short testimony to that fact.
I have been reading and praying Psalms 91 over our lives. Last week verse 11 was lived out in Steve's life.
11 God sends angels with special orders to protect you wherever you go, defending you from all harm.
Steve came home early one day last week. As he came in, I asked if everything was ok since he was home so early and hadn't called. "I had an accident at work and I didn't want you to worry, so I didn't call." was his answer.
Here is what happened. He was taking a large pot of gravy from the stove to the steam table when he tripped. Hot gravy, fresh off the fire, covered him as he hit the floor. His glasses protected his eyes but not the rest of his face. His clothes help shield his body except for his arms which were not covered by his tee shirt. Burning pain started as his arms and face turned red from the clinging gravy. Fast thinking co-workers got his shirt off, and him to the sink to rinse off and run cold water on the burns. They applied egg whites to the burned skin and let it dry. Then after it dried, he washed the egg off and applied a burn ointment. By the time he came in the house, you couldn't even tell anything had happened, except for a spot on his arm and above his eyebrow, and his pants that were stiff with dried gravy.
(Note: Steve said the egg whites stopped the burning pain. I had never heard about using egg white to treat minor burns, so I googled it. Apparently, the use of egg white as a cure for burns goes back centuries. Various doctors in the 18thand 19th centuries are documented as making this claim, stating that the protein in the egg white not only seals the wound, preventing infection but also provides vital nutrients for new skin cells to grow and replace the dead ones. However, none of the medical experts of today recommend this treatment, in fact, they all advise against it. There is a risk of infection from bacteria and danger if you are allergic to eggs. Some studies have shown that running that cold water has the same effect without the risks. )
I truly believe angels were protecting him that day. Not only was there no lasting side effect from the burn, but the fall didn't hurt his knees or hip! God turned that mess into a miracle.
God does miracles every day, but we don't always see them. It would be easy to credit his fellow employees, the egg whites or even decide the burn must not have been that bad, but I saw God's hand in the situation. I saw a miracle.

Safe and Secure
91 When you sit enthroned] under the shadow of Shaddai,
you are hidden in the strength of God Most High.
2 He’s the hope that holds me and the Stronghold to shelter me,
the only God for me, and my great confidence.
3 He will rescue you from every hidden trap of the enemy,
and he will protect you from false accusation
and any deadly curse.
4 His massive arms are wrapped around you, protecting you.
You can run under his covering of majesty and hide.
His arms of faithfulness are a shield keeping you from harm.
5 You will never worry about an attack of demonic forces at night
nor have to fear a spirit of darkness coming against you.
6 Don’t fear a thing!
Whether by night or by day, demonic danger will not trouble you,[g]
nor will the powers of evil launched against you.
7 Even in a time of disaster, with thousands and thousands being killed,
you will remain unscathed and unharmed.
8 you will be a spectator as the wicked perish in judgment,
for they will be paid back for what they have done!
9–10 When we live our lives within the shadow of God Most High,
our secret hiding place, we will always be shielded from harm.
How then could evil prevail against us or disease infect us?
11 God sends angels with special orders to protect you wherever you go,
defending you from all harm.
12 If you walk into a trap, they’ll be there for you
and keep you from stumbling.
13 You’ll even walk unharmed among the fiercest powers of darkness,
trampling every one of them beneath your feet!
14 For here is what the Lord has spoken to me:
“Because you have delighted in me as my great lover,
I will greatly protect you.
I will set you in a high place, safe and secure before my face.
15 I will answer your cry for help every time you pray,
and you will find and feel my presence
even in your time of pressure and trouble.
I will be your glorious hero and give you a feast.
16 You will be satisfied with a full life and with all that I do for you.
For you will enjoy the fullness of my salvation!”
