We all love a good hero story. We are amazed at the man that smashes through ice to save a young girl. We wonder at the superhuman strength of a Mom saving her children from a crumpled car. We marvel at the firemen who run into burning buildings to save an old crippled man. These stories of humans risking their life for another come and go. However, there is one such story that is so awesome, it has been told over and over for the last 2000 years.
The hero of the story was a 33 year old carpenter. His awe inspiring act cost him his life on earth, but saved billions of souls.
When He was arrested after being betrayed by a friend, He went quietly. He even healed one of the guards after another one of his friends cut off the guards ear.
He allowed Himself to be convicted of a crime He didn't commit, so we wouldn't be condemned.
He was beat and whipped, so we could be healed.
He was nailed to a cross where our sin and wrongdoing crushed the life from Him.
He endured rejection from His Father, so we could be adopted into their family.
He stayed in hell until every last transgression and sin was paid for. Not just mine and yours, but every person born on earth, from Adam until the last baby that will be born here.
But you want to know the best part of the story? He rose from the dead! Just imagine that! Because of what he did, we get to enjoy the rest of our life here on earth. And we get to spend eternity with him instead of in the misery of hell.
And our hero's name: Jesus Christ.
If you want to know more about this amazing hero, there are 66 books written about him. You can find them all in the Bible.
So, the next time you hear of a heroic act, take time to thank God for the man that saved your life in this world and the next. If you haven't yet accepted His sacrifice for you, it is not too late. A simple heart felt request is all it takes. You can visit the Meet Jesus page for help to get started.

He truly is an awe and a wonder. Blessings to you!
I love the song, “By His Wounds” that references this verse. Thank you for the encouraging reminder of our Hero and Savior Jesus.
Love how you crafted the story of Jesus! I don’t think I ever seen it done this way before. Refreshing!
