Bless in the Land God has Given to You

Blessing the Land God has Given to You

The Lord will command the blessing upon you in your storehouses and in all that you undertake, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God gives you.  Deuteronomy 28:8

Last time we established that Yahweh decrees the blessing.  A blessing is a special favor, mercy, or benefit that can be seen in your life and brings you happiness. In Proverbs 10:22, we find the blessing or prosperity from Yahweh causes you to accumulate and grow wealth without painful toil.

The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.
 Proverbs 10:22

Deuteronomy 28:8 says the blessing happens in the land which the Lord has given you. The Israelites were given a very specific geographical area of land they were to take over and occupy. That is where they would find the blessings God had for them. If they would've tried to conquer some other land, they would have been outside the blessings of God.

Know your land

We recently received news that our car needed some work done on it.

Steve wasn't happy about how much it was going to cost. He proclaimed with great faith, he could fix it himself - if he had the lift and equipment to do it. I shuddered at this and quietly thanked God that Steve didn't have access to those. While I've seen him work with the Holy Spirit to fix things he didn't know how to fix, replacing car parts is not his area of expertise. Being a car mechanic is not his land. If he tried to do it would have resulted in much painful toil and frustration.

Steve's land: his gift and passion, are feeding people good food. Over the years, the Lord has blessed him in this land. He has accumulated and grown in a wealth of skills and knowledge. He has been blessed financially in his land so he can provide for us. Cooking is his happy place, and the land God has decreed a blessing upon him.

Your land my change, but the blessing keeps coming.

When Israel came out of Egypt, the Lord blessed them with gold and silver. They were blessed in the wilderness with the provision and skills they would need. As the Israelites took over the promised land, their territory changed and enlarged.  God did not give it all to them at once because they would not be able to handle it. As they marched forward, they accumulated the land and wealth of the land God gave them.

Over the years, my land has changed. It's gone from stay-at-home mom to entering the workforce and now entrepreneur and writer. The blessing, benefits of the skill and knowledge given in each land go with me and grow in the next.

You can also expect your land to change and enlarge. The land you occupy as a child is different than the one you occupy as an adult. Your land changes from job to job. It changes even more drastically when you are unemployed or retire. However, each new land God leads you into has new blessings prepared for you there.

Finding your land

God has gone before you and prepared a land for you. That is where you will find the blessing. Ephesians 2:10 in the Amplified Bible describes our land. It is taking the paths which He set for us to walk in and doing the good works He has prepared for us to do. The blessing is living the good life that He prearranged and made ready for us.

Moving into a new land can be exciting, scary, and often filled with uncertainty. Sometimes you know the path to your new land. On other occasions, getting there is a step of faith. Can you imagine being Abraham? God told him to leave behind everything and go. God would show him the land he was to possess. (Gen. 12:1) At that point, only God knew where Abraham was going, and he didn't give Abraham a location or map of how to get there.

Here are a few scriptures that may help you find your land.

Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart
And do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him,
And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].  Proverbs 3:5-6 AMP

Your ears will hear sweet words behind you: “Go this way. There is your path; this is how you should go” whenever you must decide whether to turn to the right or the left. Isaiah 30:21 VOICE

Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life,  then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will guard your heart and mind through Jesus Christ.  Philippians 4:6-7

Trust He has a land for you to be in and He will get you there.  You may not understand how you are going to live and be blessed in that land, that is ok.  Trust that He loves you enough to direct your steps and guide you. Follow peace and move forward into the blessings He has for you in your land.

YAHWEH has commanded the blessing upon you, so get ready to be blessed!

have a delightful day

I had never thought of it like this. I tend to be a “bloom where you’re planted” kind of girl.
