My One Word Journey: September

My One Word Journey: September

Each month I share highlights from My One Word Journal. My Word for the year is BECOME.

This month is the beginning of God's New Year.  The celebration starts with Rosh Hashana on September 25, and ends with The Feast of Tabernacles on October 16.

This is the time of year to I seek the Lord for what's coming in the next year.  There are new anointing's, new assignments, and new inspiration for 2023 available.  Then during the next three months I declare and decree them so they are established and manifest in my life during the upcoming year.

“You will also decide and decree a thing, and it will be established for you; And the light [of God’s favor] will shine upon your ways. Job 22:28 AMP

Scriptures:

"Strength and dignity are her clothing and her position is strong and secure; And she smiles at the future [knowing that she and her family are prepared]." Proverbs 31:25 AMP

"And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose."  Romans 8:28 AMP

“I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.” (Jeremiah 29:11, MSG).

"When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future."  John 16:13 NLT

"Call to me and I will answer thee, and I will announce to thee great and mighty things which thou knewest them not." Jeremiah 33:3  Smith's Literal Translation

"Now may God, the fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with his super-abundance until you radiate with hope."  Romans 15:13 TPT

Highlights from my notes:

  • Set goals as a privledged child of a loving Father.  Start by being rooted and grounded in His love and grasping His good intentions.
  • Linger and listen to what He has to say.  Set aside any preconceived ideas you have about the future you. God's plan for me is bigger than I could ever think or imagine
  • Practice doing the unexpected.  Try something new, drive a different route, challenge yourself to be courageous in the every day things.  You will never see the unexpected if you keep doing the same things.

Quotes:

“Your future depends on what you do today” ― Mahatma Gandhi

“Do something today that your future self will thank you for.”― Sean Patrick Flanery

"You're somewhere in the future, and you look much better than you look right now. ― Kim Clement

"We cannot start over, but we can begin now and make a new ending."  ― Zig Ziggler

Art Journaling Page:

 September Word of the Year

I found this picture a while ago and it keeps speaking to me.  The ladder reminds me of Jacobs Ladder, where the angels were ascending with our prayers, and descending with the answers.

Lavender flowers represent purity, love, devotion, serenity, grace, and calmness. Purple is the color of royalty and speaks of elegance, refinement, and luxury.  This plant is from the mint family and is know for its longevity and hardiness.

Action Plan:

Write the vision and make it clear upon tablets, so that the one who reads it may run.  Habakkuk 2:2

  • Linger and listen, the write the vision.  Use it to declare and decree the future I want and God has planned.
  • Heart storming with the Holy Spirit
  • Future self journaling
  • Create vision board

Celebration:

Personal Retreat time!

My Favorite Steps & Review:

We had a great time with Steve's family.  Now that we are all retired, I'm looking forward to doing more fun things with them.  We also had a cookout with my family.  Family time will take on more importance during the upcoming year.

Things took an unexpected turn last week when Dad fell and broke his hip.  This has drastically changed my days for the foreseeable future.

How is your One Word journey progressing? What surprises has God had for you this month?

Retirement is wonderful! I’m so sad to hear about your Dad, and I pray he recovers well from his fall.

I’m glad you’re enjoying retirement too. Jeff retired this summer and we’ve had lots of good times already that we couldn’t have had while he was working. I’m sorry to hear about your dad though! Praying for his recovery. Thanks for sharing your post at our One Word linkup!
