Focus on Finishing

Every year I choose one word for the year. It is sort of a guiding light, a theme, or a focal point for the year. This year my word was FOCUS, and Focus on Finishing is my theme for December. The first project I finished was frogs in the picture above. I made them years ago, and they had gotten quite dirty and needed a makeover. Every morning, as I went out for my coffee and time with Jesus, I would say to myself: I need to clean those up, but I never actually did it. This year as we...

Christmas Wreaths

Christmas Wreaths: What They Mean and How to Make a Fresh One   This year, I decided to make a Christmas wreath using cones and branches from our pine trees. While my pine cones are drying and the pine branches are soaking, I thought I would share a little bit I've learned about the Christmas wreath. This week has been a reminder to me of how important it is to cherish your family while you can.  Your loved ones may not be here next year for many different reasons. In Matt. 25:23, he says this to those who persisted in using the talents He gave them.   Well done, good and...

Encouragement from a Wishing Well Project

Recently, I was asked to help with decorating for an outdoor engagement party.During a brainstorming session with the hostess, we came up with the idea of a wishing well. The guests would fill out cards with their wishes for the couple and drop them into the well.   It started out simple-just a few bricks and a bucket, but then I looked on Pinterest (does that happen to you?).  I found some pictures of wishing wells made from old tires, and a bigger idea started to form. We had a couple of tires we needed to get rid of.  I...
