Dining Room Comeback! Yea!

Great news!  Dining Rooms are making a comeback.    We are beyond ready for sit-down family meals to make a comeback, and thankfully, more homeowners are opting to keep their formal dining rooms instead of converting them into media rooms or offices, says Houzz.   From <http://www.elledecor.com/design-decorate/trends/news/g2873/interior-design-trends-2016/?slide=5&thumbnails=> Our dining room calls for us to slow down and savor a beautiful meal,  linger over coffee and desert with conversation.  Holidays, birthdays, company's coming, and the "just because" times are all celebrated best in the dinning room.  Eating in a dining room can elevate the simplest meals to something special. Itsy Bitsy Spider/ Delighting in the Fathers voice.

Isn't it wonderful how many ways the Father speaks to us!  He does, you know, every day, if only we were open to hear him.  Last week, I was delighted to have lunch with my sister- in- law and her 2 year old grandson. While she was on a phone call, Murphy and I had a conversation about the itsy bitsy spider. "The itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout" he said singingly. Tomato Jam

Last week I picked the last of the tomatoes from  our garden.   As I was searching for something to do with them, I came across recipes for Tomato Jam and decided to give that a try.  I thought it would be a great appetizer for Thanksgiving, and I was right!  (Or it will be if there is any left by then). After comparing recipes, thinking about flavors, and searching my cabinets, this is the recipe I came up with:   Jodee's Jammin' -Tomato Jam.   I used beefsteak, roma, grape and cherry, left the skin on and seeds in.  I also found  a lone...

2 turkeys trying to get into a quilt shop!

While on a genealogy trip last week, we came across a quilt shop in Fayetteville, PA called the Sew'n Place.  There were two turkeys outside looking in, clearly wanting to go inside.  (I'm sure there is a joke in there somewhere?!)  A clerk had to hold them back so we could get into the shop. Apparently, they belonged to a neighbor, but had decided the quilt shop was where they belonged.  When we came out, one was sleeping on the window sill and the other in the bush out front.  This was my first fabric store since June when my Hancock store closed.  Oh,...

Why jodelights!?

Why jodelights!?

Hi everyone! I delight in many things, but these are the two that became jodelights! I delight in fabrics and fibers; in the process of transformation and creation; in short sewing and crafting! As long as I can remember sewing, crafting and quilting has been part of my world.  The walls of my house are filled with quilts, displaying the warmth and love of generations, past to present.   My Dad tells stories of playing under a quilt frame while his mother and other neighbors quilted.                 Family heirloom quilt from 1940's.   My...
