National Anthem, U.S. Flag & Pledge of Allegiance Etiquette

Flag day was June 14 and the 4th of July is will be here before we know it.  As Christians, we are to obey the laws of the land and be a living example to those around us.  Part of that is showing respect to our flag and our county. As I was looking for a video for my TGC party, I came across some on the writing of the National Anthem.  (you can see the video on day 2 of my Backyard BBQ-sign up here to join the fun and get a free picnic planner too!)  It got me thinking-did...

"Then Gideon built an altar there unto the Lord, and called it Jehovah-shalom " (the Lord is peace).  Judges 6:24  Up until now, Gideon was having a bad day.  He was forced to thresh wheat in a winepress so the enemies of Israel would not steal it.  He was doing his best to...

What size in your Frying Pan?

What size in your Frying Pan?

As I have been doing my spring cleaning I have come across areas in my house that need more than just  cleaning. A kitchen rug that had been washed too many times needed to be replaced.  Loose floor tile that needs fixed. A bookcase needed to be relocated to make room for another desk in the office.  These little improvements lead to a better functioning and more pleasing home.  The same goes as we spring clean our mind.  As we start "thinking on these things" Holy Spirit reveals what needs to be fixed, updated or replaced. I read a...
